Blinkered press??

What would have been the press reaction if Rooney or Drogba or Van Persie had 'nibbled' an opponent?

I'll tell you what, in the case our Rooney the likes of Woolnough, Custis, Samuel, Harris & co would have exploded with pharisaic anti-United rage. (it makes a change!!!)

Press rooms all over the country would be in meltdown as the front & back pages go into 'ROO-NATIC!' overload.

Alan Green would have called for a life long banas long at it didn't affect teh national team which the FA would have delivered.

Every News channel in the country would be asking the opinion of media psychiatrists & sports therapists. Each of them telling us how Rooney is a certifiable loose cannon.

As it is Defoe, nothing much has been said..............................or is that the reason why??????!!!!!

P.S I am assuming that this post will elicit a record number of comments

Haven't even seen the incident but for Jol to suggest that it is just part of the game is a joke.

You make a good point about Rooney, but it would hardly have been out of character for Rooney to "bite" someone.

Why has no one slammed the tackle from behind by Maschareno???

We should all be applauding the good things that happened this weekend, Jaaskelainen making two penalty saves, Arsenal playing some scintilating football and Rio scoring a wonder goal rather than concentrating on a minor incident.

It's fair enough. Defoe's a cute little thing (although I've noticed he's starting to look like his EA Sports avatar) whereas Rooney looks like thug.

And why have there been no 'Nascherano' headlines? That's the really disappointing thing for me.

By the way Ronaldo, glad to see the goals are back up on 101. The publicity has done the site wonders - there seems to be a popular movement building, no?

Tim Cooper is our new PR man...

If there is a popular movement building then I guess I am a modern day Robin Hood...

We will see, hopefully we can educate the powers that be about the wonders of new technology.

Gerarrd will come good, much of his good work last season was when he played on the right...

First it was Lampard, then Rooney now its Gerarrd every player goes througha dip in form every now and again...
