Lessons in losing

Who remembers Bobby Robson in 2001 after Newcastle beat Arsenal at Highbury, dealing them a bitter blow in the run up to Christmas. Robson said, 'But people have to learn how to lose now and again and a lot of people here have not done so.'

As the French say, 'Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.'

I will refer to my post earlier "people in glass houses........." especially if Wenger was truly pissed off by Pardew's antics on the touchline. Only last month we saw Wenger prance around the Old Trafford touchline after his Arsenal side beat United!!!
I have a personal theory on his inability to (lately) not accept defeat but it is too long to publish here right now. Suffice to say it is along the lines of (in a French accent of course) "I don't beleive it, I have just managed to usurp Ferguson and now this Russian has come and taken away my years of dominance. It's not fair. Whatever I do, whatever I try there is always someone better than me"

Oh and another thing. The other day, respected journalist Paddy Barclay divulged what many have always thought. He admitted that he and the newspapers in general were bias in favour of Arsenal because of how much of a 'purist' Wenger is(and what an intelligent man he is – yawn) and how good in general the Club are with media relations.
He more or less said that they always give United a hard time in the press because their relationship with Ferguson is so frosty but we already know this.
Here are just a few examples of Arsenal 'losing the plot' at full time under Wenger.
Old Trafford 03/04 - the group Van Nistelrooy assault.
Old Trafford 04/05 - the so-called 'Pizzagate' stuff.
Highbury 02/03 - mass hissy fits over Campbells red card - despite both of their goals in that match being offside.
Champions League final last season, Henry calling players "women" for diving and complaining about the red card etc (even though the reason for his outburst was that Barca had pulled out of the deal to take him there!! Allegedly of course!!!)
Newcastle a few years back at Highbury as mentioned by Smiling Assasin then Wenger complaining about Everton the week before last, Henry whining about them being victimised in Europe…………..it goes on.
If United, Liverpool (and Mourinho's Chelsea to be fair) had a disciplinary record like that the newspapers would want fines, docked points, relegation, bans etc, etc.
But because Wenger is the sophisticated professor he and his side get away with fucking murder with respect to the press.
The reason the FA never REALLY punish Arsenal is because the newspapers and Sky set the agenda in modern football and both of these forms of media are in Wenger’s pocket (where the sweets are of course!)
Rant Over
P.S At least his team's play 'proper' football!!!

Forget to include this bit -
Do Arsenal fans care as long as the football they play continues and they are (realtively) successful?
Do neutral fans care as long as Wenger promotes his brand of football?
Answer to both is a resounding NO.
However, as long Arsenal do not get preferetial treatment by authorities then nstances like those highlighted serve to make the game interesting. imagine if all clubs played like Chelsea? Fucking robots.........
