As well as Theo's team performed, Sid's collapsed. His forwards did nothing to mollify his leaky defence and he ended up with -3. The rest hovered on single figures.
So, Stathi's still at the top going into the international week. Here's the table:
FFL 2009/10 LEAGUE TABLE | |||
Diff | Total Points | ||
1st | Stathi | 106 | |
12 | 2nd | Rico | 94 |
15 | 3rd | James | 91 |
23 | 4th | Don | 83 |
27 | 5th | Nick Ath | 79 |
31 | 6th | Theo | 75 |
35 | 7th | Nick Ach | 71 |
46 | 8th | Sid | 60 |
49 | 9th | Mike | 57 |
Just as a reminder, Mike bought Tim Howard for Robert Green last week. This week, Theo got rid of Rafael and bought Hibbert; I can't remember a defender being acquired on -4 before, so that must surely be a first. He also got rid of Osman for Fletcher, but changed his mind on Sunday night and cancelled.
Just to clarify the ruling on transfers: anything up to 8.01pm is acceptable unless a goal is scored in the 1st minute of an 8pm game. If you've got any sense though, you'll make sure it's in by 7.59pm.

Oi Chair-boy, check your email pronto...
Sorry, that 8.01 thing is bollox.........always been 8.........don't give a monkey's what a physics teacher thinks.....it has always been by 8 not inclusive of 8.........I was given stick for being anal in terms of being a stickler for the rules and not just saying it was OK. The rule itself was fine so why has it been changed. If I now put in a transfer at 8.01 and 20 seconds and kick up enough of a fuss will it be changed to 8.02..........utter tosh.......
James, you need a massage.
Of your genitals.
Let's be honest, we have a whole week to make a transfer request so why the Daniel-Levy-it to the last few seconds?? I have some sympathy for the Doc. And if it wasn't for the fact I'd just bought an Everton defender I would have said it would be a kind of sweet justice for them to concede eight goals.
Right, this is my final say on the matter. Originally the transfer deadline, if you long-term veterans remember, was Saturday, so mamangers were able to 'buy' midweek points. We changed the rule to Monday night a few years ago to prevent that happening.
So, the spirit of the law is intended to eliminate a legal form of cheating. Mike wasn't cheating. He made a transfer 20 seconds late (in Yahoo Email Time). And, ultimately, he saved himself 1 point. If no one likes the 8.01pm rule, which I admit isn't 'clean', then let's all agree on 8.00pm exactly, without any further argument, and agree that Mike's one transgression will never be cited as precedent for any further late requests.
Incidentally Mike, your 'physics defence' was rather weak. Back to the spirit of the law again: the point is that all transfers are in before the Monday night kick off, which is 8.00pm, not 8.01pm.
The assassin is 100% correct. This was a one-off incident and maybe it could have been initially communicated with a bit more empathy and sensitivity but thankfully we've been mature about it....
Now know where we stand for future reference. 8pm sharp from now on boys. I mean we do have all week for christs sake.
Sorry to continue this but the physics thing was NEVER meant as a defence as I didn't think there was a case to answer for.
It was merely stating what I was told was chronological and spatial fact - and not twaddle.
So by 8pm sharp we mean 8:00.00 and not a second more. Correct?
Correct. 8pm sharp. The idea, as I said, was to complete all transfers before the Monday night kick off, which is why the deadline is brought forward for early kick offs on Bank Holidays.
The spirt of the law boys, the spirit of the law. This is a game among friends, not the House of fucking Lords.
