FFL Weeks 19 & 20

Happy New Year gentlemen. May 2016 bring joy, happiness, health and wealth for you and your families.

This crazy, unpredictable, tactically lacking, technically devoid league of ours continues to bring an equal measure of smiles and frustration!

With the Christmas period now over, the bumper number of games has yielded the following points over the last two game days.

The reason I’m putting it as a table is for you to check although I will also send the spreadsheet for those that way inclined……..Anal-retentive doyens James and Harry please step forward.

By the way did you know that ‘anal-retentiveness’ comes from Freudian psychoanalysis? Freud hypothesised that children who experience conflicts during the anal stimulation period which follows the oral stimulation period of time may develop "anal" personality traits, namely those associated with a child's efforts at excretory control: orderliness, stubbornness and a compulsion for control.

So the “Christmas Star on the Tree” award goes to Harry with an impressive 33 points over two game days helped by Arnautovic’s 7 points haul – pity the tramp couldn’t do much last night against the vermin.

The “Christmas Turkey Leftovers” award goes to Sid with a paltry (poultry?) 2 thanks to Everton conceding 4 at Stoke leaving Stones and Howard with -3 each.

Even after so many games the table largely resembles the one before the festive and calorific period.
