Transfer activity: First potential controversy of the year I'm afraid although you let me be chariman so in my humble opinion we have rules.....they are there for a reason.......so clear-cut to me. Week 4 FFL

Evening all.........what a game.........one that you wish had involved your own team........and one I wish I'd seen live as bloody bleeped out of the mess just before the goals started flying in!!

Got to say that pictures of SAF chatting merrily to fourth official with Hughes pissing bullets in the background are classic.......

So to FFL matters. An interesting week with 90 points scored in total (dull stat of the week!!) in keeping with the 10 per week per person theory............alas there was a significant dichotomy between the haves and the have nots this week.

1 Stathi 78
2. Rico 74
3. James 71
4. Nick Ath 59
5. Don 57
6. Nick Ach 51
7. Mike 50
8. Sid 47
9. Theo 41

Thomas Vermaelan of the week: RICO with 22, closely followed by Stathi with 20 courtesy of Defensive sloidity from Chelsea and Villa when everyone else was leaking big time. Also worth mentioing a nother excellent haul from Ryan Giggs to help Rico.

Tottenham Hotspur's CB fitness of the week: NICK ATH (again!) with a solitary point (again!) with the Manchester derby costing him -8 points. DP and myself were amongst others not far behind (2 each)

Transfer activity:
Strike while the irons hot.......or.......closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.........you decide
SAHA for YAKUBU - Sid

Is Wenger a comedy genius?

Nice quote:

It looks very bad," said Wenger, the Arsenal manager, after he learned that Adebayor had been charged by the Football Association with violent and improper conduct.
"You ask 100 people; 99 will say it's very bad and the hundredth will be Mark Hughes."]

I found it funny, but then Wenger also has previous and Hughes could easily retort with:

"Ask 100 people if Eduardo dived, 99 will say yes, the 100th will be Arsene Wenger"

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

OK, so Adebayor gets charged...................

for his celebration. What does this guy get????

David Lemi for London Wasps v Bath at the weekend.

A bit similar to Adebayor, he was going back to a ground where he took a lot of shit as a Bristol player.

I like it.............

Do as you're told then

you fucking idiot!!!

Forlan reveals boot furore

Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan has said that Sir Alex Ferguson let him leave Old Trafford five years ago after an argument about the length of his studs.

The Uruguay international, who scored 17 goals in 97 appearances for United, has revealed that he fell out with the veteran Scottish manager over his choice of footwear.

Forlan, who has gone on to enjoy prolific spells with Villarreal and Atletico Madrid since leaving England, said: "Ferguson wanted me to play with long studs, the interchangeable ones that suit wet pitches, but I feel more comfortable in short ones.

"I agreed to change but I didn't and, against Chelsea, I slipped in front of goal and wasted a chance.

"Afterwards, I rushed to the dressing room to change boots but Ferguson caught me. He grabbed the boots and threw them. That was my last game for United."

Week 3 FFL

Good evening fellow FFL geeks...........
Mr Pieri and Mr Winter sum up the weekend's antics.
All the more frustrating as Adebayor has every physical attribute a top striker needs (pace, power, guile, trickery, decent in the air etc.....).what he lacks is heart and class. The stamp on RvP was a shocker and hopefully he will get suitably punished and from what I heard (didn't see it as working) he did his best to do Fabregas also...
Main point is that the obviously pre-meditated response to his inevitable goal was the ONLY way he could celebrate that would propogate the complete myth (fabrigated bullshit) of the supposed relationship with the fans....he and his spin-doctors have spent weeks trying to blame the fans for his leaving AFC and culminated in the stories against the fans and ex-team mates on the eve of the game.
He came as sub from Monaco.
He was made into a top player by AW and had 1 exceptional season and suitably lauded for it.
Failed to get a move to AC Milan, got a whacking contract and was then a disgrace for most of last season..lazy and disinterested at best and in the big games anonymous.
He wasn't boo'd but we just didn't hero-worship him as he wanted..........for the above reasons
Then tried to move again to a BIG club having burnt his bridges with his colleagues and fans by agan making it clear he wanted off, and then surprised that nobody else wanted him so ended up at Citeh........So the nonsense of the fans driving him out is tosh......
So straight (almost!) to it:

1. James 69
2. Nick Ath 58
= Stathi 58
4. Don 55
5. Rico 52
6. Mike 45
7. Nick Ach 42
8. Theo 32
= Sid 32

Yossi Benayoun of the week: DONALD with a whopping 20 courtesy of the Israeli's 11 points and incredibly 3 more each for Defoe and Adebayor who continue to score in every game they play! The bottom 2 are the only others into double figures to close the gap slightly with the majority scoring 6 or less courtesy of a shocking week for the defences.............only 7 points scored in defence for all 9 teams put together (Useless stat of the week!!)

Gael Clichy of the week: NICK ATH with a solitary point courtesy of -2 in defence. and Agi's 3.......the same number as the number of goals My Clichy individually laid on a plate for Manchester City on Saturday afternoon. One-man kamikaze defending to gift them the game.

Transfer activity:
ROSICKY for WALCOTT - Mike outbids Theo who offered Osman
INSUA for FERRIRA - Sid
Donald tries to sell a CB that he wasn't sure he had for another he wasn't sure if somebody else had.............He did, but they also did so no transfer........confused??

Adebayor.................

After that incident at the weekend, Henry Winter of the Telegraph described it thus:

“sadly predictable… thick and unnecessary.”

I think that for once we can all agree.

Shame for Donald though (not too much pity though - how many points this week DP????? Sheesh) as I predict the Elephant washer's son will get a minimum 4 match ban.

Oh, andhe has now overtaken Eboue in the 'most detestable footballer in the Premier League table' but way, way behind 5 time champion Cashley Cole.

Week 2 - FFL

Humble chairman bids you all a good evening.

Bugger all to report on yet another dull international break.........

Look forward to getting back to it at the weekend.

Useless stat of the week............From the records I have, I don't think anybody has won the FFL after leading on week 1.....so I'm screwed.

TRANFERS: Theo realised the folly of his ways and goes from Roly-Poly Reid to Waif'like Kranjcaer............

Hmmmmmm. Not very smart are you?

AQUILANI DENIES FASCIST LINK

Liverpool's new signing claimed in an interview that:

"There are too many foreigners in the country – most of the violence and trouble you see is caused by them"

This from a man who now works in a foriegn country for a club with mostly foreigners - is this what they call irony (or is it ignorance and predjudice?????)
