FFL Week 33.............

BRICKING. IT.

Joined by geography........separated by success

I've got rid of the wife and kids for tomorrow evening. You are all welcome to come and watch THE game. I will be the trembling wreck cowering in the corner, on my knees praying..............

As for FFL, Nick PC closes the gap to 52 at the top but with a couple of weeks left of the season I can smell title number four!

Battle for second and third is a four way race with just 23 points separating 2nd to 4th.

Transfer from last week:

Stathi: Balotelli OUT Tevez IN

FA Cup semi-finals

McNicks won it. Well done.

Interestingly, if FA Cup points counted towards the League the table would look like this:

FFL week 31.............

Right then, four weeks to go.

The Player of the Year short list has been published.

The Young Player of the Year shortlist has been published.

And the Premier League are imploring us all to vote in various categories in celebration of the 20 since football began....................

For what it's worth here are my views on all the above. Player of the Year? Too easy. Van Persie's shoulders must be aching carrying Arsenal all season. An easy winner. 1/16 with the bookies. He'll walk it. More pertinently, how the fuck has Rooney got onto the shortlist? OK, he's scored plenty of goals but he's been shite for most of the season. Not even been United's best player (Valencia, Carrick, Evans, Rio, Scholes all been better than him).

Also Parker in there? Really? REALLY? Surely his inclusion is an elaborate wind up by Premier League footballers? Carrick overlooked for him shows that in England running (fast and hard) to where you're supposed to be is preferable to being there already (ready to receive, pass and move on)

Why no Kompany? Krull? Ba? Vorm? Even Coloccini has had a better year than at least two of the nominees......................

Young Player of the Year? For me it's got to be Aguero (although why the age limit is as high as 23 is beyond me but anyways). Class, class footballer. Again what is Oxo-Cube Chamberlain doing there? Had an impact in 12 and half minutes. hasn't started a game since I transferred him in. Lame.

Premier League 20 Seasons - interesting, very, very interesting.

VOTE HERE

Matches - I went for Spurs 3-5 United
Goals - I love volleys. Di Canio's is the best one there. Nutter.
Celebrations - shit category but my vote can only to King Eric although Ketsbaia's is utter lunacy
Save - Shay Given

Now the team:

GK - Schmeichel - best ever 'keeper
RB - Neville - most consistent right back in the list
CB - Ferdinand - couldn't decide between Rio, Vidic or Stam. Went for Rio for his passing.
CB - Terry - a cunt of the highest order but the other night again showed he is a quality defender
LB - Irwin - Mr Consistency. Left or right foot. Free kicks, penalties. Very under rated.
RM - Ronaldo - One of the best players of his generation.
CM - Keane - A cunt. But he was our cunt. A true captain. Driven with an insatiable will to win.
CM - Scholes - A genius. Best English footballer of the past twenty years. Easily.
LM - Giggs - name another left winger in the past 30 years as good as him for as long as him?
FOR - Eric - Defined the Premier League era. Kick-started the trophy winning machine at OT.
FOR - Henry - Balletic runner. Clinical finisher. Best striker in past 20 years.

There you have it. Oh yeah, FFL.

Here is the table:

Top score this week was Rico with 23 pipping James with his 21. James has got in himself into third place. Who knows a couple of transfers and he could've...................

Eleven points separates 2nd to 5th.

One transfer:

ME
Sturridge OUT Jelavic IN

FFL Week 30.....................(and FA Cup)

Well the rather well fed lady has indeed cleared her larynx and is about to burst into song..............

WHAT. A. WEEKEND

Started off with quite a wonderful evening of poker, banter, jokes (T'Pau still killing me) and bad beats.

Followed by another referee gifting United three points (like we weren't going to beat QPR at home)

Then Arsenal smashing city.

As Del Boy would say "Luvly Jubbly"

As for FFL I've done a whole season audit and below are the exact points as they currently stand.

With six games to go I'm 45 points ahead of Nick PC which means he has to outscore me by an average of 7.5 points a week. Do-able? Of course as I know to my benefit (sorry McNick) in 2002.

Managers bunching up behind Nick PC with 21 points covering second to Harry in sixth.

McNick seems safe in 'no man's land' while the fight for the wooden spoon has both Rico and TC tied a mere eight points behind Sid in 8th.

Here is the table:

For those who were asking on Friday evening the FFL prize money is as follows:

FFL Champion - £270
FFL runner-up - £80

FA Cup winner - £50

As for the FA Cup, here is the table:

Loads of games next week and it could all change of course.

Transfers, if any, after the tomorrow's deadline.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday

FFL week 29

It is isn't over until the obscenely obese female sings....................

The Premier League? Probably forget that - City's arse went weeks ago.

Nope, the 2012 FFL title still has legs.

Nick PC is a 'mere' 40 points behind long time leader me.

Goals from Papiss Cisse, Sigudrsson, and Adebayor (all subs) and assist from Ben Arfa (another assist) have narrowed the gap.

Am I worried?

Don't really care anymore to be honest - have had a wonderful week.

My footy boys won the Middlesex County Cup - to bring the trophy back to Kingsmead for the first time ever.

I've waited 6 years to win this trophy since I last led a team to the final....and lost.

The Middlesex Cup wasthe Holy Grail.

So, so chuffed. This particular edition, the Under-15 Blaxland Cup, has been going since 1933!

And before you ask, yes, I did take it home that evening!!!!

On top of that I got confirmation that I have been accepted as one of the 'Games Makers' for the Olympics this summer. Get in.

As I type I can also confirm I will be part of Poker Friday aswell!

Oh, and of course - TWO WEEK EASTER BREAK and no coursework to mark................Woohoo!!!

Anyway, enough about my recent good fortune.

FFL table:

And finally - THIRTY FIVE MILLION QUID. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...................................

Subs (if any) after tomorrow's deadline

Regards

Your rather chuffed Chairman who is grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
