FFL Week 22

Points-wise this was a boring, low scoring week, which was the antithesis of the match of season – as Norwich and Liverpool served up a ridiculous game with goals and entertainment galore to prolong those delusional enough to believe the moniker ‘best league in the world’ still has some legs. Less said about the defending the better.

Hat nod to Delle Ali and Mahrez skills last weekend. WOW!

Nick PC with 11 points walks off with the ‘Adam “see, I’m not always shit” Lallana’ award for top score of the week while Sid, with a fat zero is the recipient of the ‘A “just fuck off Louis. FUCK OFF” United Fan’ award for bottom scoring.

I extended my lead at the top by a paltry two points, thanks to Arsenal’s insane inability to score against the worst defending champions since Blackburn. Chelsea truly are Wenger’s Kryptonite…….

Transfers:

For the second time Sid has attempted to transfer in a player he never had because in week 17 he had tried to get said player when he had used up all eight transfers. Sid, no more emails please. In fact, read them!!!!

FA Cup this week and with the transfer window shutting next week, a late splurge is expected!

FFL Week 21

Double bubble this week with two full Premier League programmes which again emphasised the topsy-turvy, unpredictability of this season. High on drama and low on quality.

Going into Sunday’s matches a few emails were bouncing back and forth between James and yours truly. I was hoping for a Rooney hat-trick to help slay the vermin while James, as was his want, was eager for a Benteke treble to preserve  midweek accumulation if points that saw him close the gap at the top of the Dwight Yorke Cup.

Alas James was to be disappointed by late Sunday afternoon as the fat scouse granny shagger smashed home the winner. Scenes in the Pieri household. Add to that a De Gea clean sheet and with a Bellerin shutout I’d clawed back 9 points in one day to maintain a 24 point lead – such is the life of an FFL manager – elated one match, pig sick the next.

For many Soares’ 8 points for James were as much a surprise as Rooney’s 11 which meant that over the week both James and I scored 26 points each to claim the Louis “get the fuck in you rat munchers” Van Gaal award for top score of the week.

Elsewhere a more than commendable 20 points has lifted Don clear beyond the dreaded floor. Nick PC’s see him rooted and a -2 this week gives him the Roberto “shit defence” Martinez award for bottom score of the week.

Stathi and McNick, along with Harry, are in a battle for third place. Stathi could only score 12 points this week against McNick's 15. Over the past three weeks McNick has made up 12 points on Stathi and sits just 9 behind in fourth. Harry, just a point behind McNick scored 11 this week.
